What happens when numbers become words?
What happens when equations become emotions, patterns become poetry, and mathematics becomes a way to tell the story of who we are?
Fibonacci Day is celebrated on November 23 because 11/23 reflects the beginning of the Fibonacci sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13... Each number is generated by adding the two numbers before it.
But we're interested in more than the numbers.
We're interested in the stories inside them.
THE MIC
Poets, writers, students, educators, artists, mathematicians, and community members are invited to share original poetry inspired by:
- Numbers & numerology
- Fibonacci sequences
- The Golden Ratio
- Infinity
- Patterns
- Geometry
- Algebra
- Probability & chance
- Time & measurement
- Money & economics
- Science & nature
- Counting & memory
- Symmetry & identity
- Growth & transformation
- The mathematics of love, relationships, and life
No math degree required.
You don't have to "be good at math."
You just have to have something to say.
THE FIBONACCI CHALLENGE
Participants will be invited to experiment with a Fibonacci-inspired poem.
For example, structure your poem using:
1 line → 1 line → 2 lines → 3 lines → 5 lines → 8 lines
Or challenge yourself to write a poem in which the number of words in each line follows the sequence.
The goal isn't mathematical perfection.
The goal is to discover what happens when pattern becomes creative constraint.
