Each year, during Hispanic Heritage Month, we pause to honor the vibrant cultures, histories, and contributions of Latinx communities across the United States. It’s a time to reflect on resilience, celebrate identity, and uplift the voices that have shaped our neighborhoods, our families, and our future.
This year marks the third annual Nuestra Fiesta Latina, hosted by ULECAN—a celebration that has grown in heart, in reach, and in impact. What began as a local gathering has blossomed into a beloved tradition, bringing together families, neighbors, and organizations from across eastern North Carolina.
Nuestra Fiesta Latina is more than an event—it’s a living mosaic of traditions, flavors, rhythms, and stories. From the aroma of pupusas and tacos drifting from food trucks, to the joyful laughter of children playing lotería, to the proud parade of flags representing our countries of origin, this celebration brings our heritage to life.
Here, we dance not just to music, but to memory. We gather not just to eat, but to connect. We honor our ancestors, our languages, our faith, and our dreams. Whether you were born in Latin America or are discovering your roots, this fiesta is for you.
At the heart of Nuestra Fiesta Latina is a simple truth: diversity is a gift, and community is our strength. We invite everyone—Latinx and non-Latinx alike—to join us in celebrating the beauty of cultures that have endured, evolved, and enriched this nation.

Cada año, durante el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, hacemos una pausa para honrar las culturas vibrantes, las historias profundas y las contribuciones valiosas de las comunidades latinas en los Estados Unidos. Es un tiempo para reflexionar sobre la resiliencia, celebrar la identidad y elevar las voces que han dado forma a nuestras familias, vecindarios y futuro.
Este año celebramos la tercera edición de Nuestra Fiesta Latina, organizada por ULECAN—una celebración que ha crecido en corazón, en alcance y en impacto. Lo que comenzó como una reunión local se ha convertido en una tradición querida, que reúne a familias, vecinos y organizaciones de todo el este de Carolina del Norte.
Nuestra Fiesta Latina es más que un evento: es un mosaico vivo de tradiciones, sabores, ritmos e historias. Desde el aroma de pupusas y tacos que emanan de los food trucks, hasta las risas alegres de niños jugando lotería, y el desfile orgulloso de banderas que representan nuestros países de origen, esta celebración da vida a nuestra herencia.
Aquí bailamos no solo al ritmo de la música, sino al ritmo de la memoria. Nos reunimos no solo para comer, sino para conectar. Honramos a nuestros ancestros, nuestras lenguas, nuestra fe y nuestros sueños. Ya sea que hayas nacido en América Latina o estés descubriendo tus raíces, esta fiesta es para ti.
