Black, Brown, racial & ethnic minorities, and impoverished communities have been originating the cultural markers of “luxury” for centuries yet are usually absent from its depictions. What is “luxury”?
Join this multidisciplinary group of artists in stripping the layers of this term and finding what is at its core. What has the term appropriated and exploited for its image? What does that say about “luxury”?
The events consists of a 50 minute, multi-genre show, followed by a one hour open mic.
This event is 100% free to attend and it’s 100% free to sign up for the open mic (first come, first served, 12 available slots). You can choose to donate to the individual businesses of the performing artists as well.
