Excursion to ANSTO ( Australian Nuclear Science Technology Organisation) in Sydney, Lucas Heights
This excursion includes: a talk tailored to Stage 4&5 Science topics, a hands on workshop and a tour of the facilities. The tour provides an in depth look into the world of nuclear science and the work ANSTO does in the areas of health, the environment and delivering solutions for industry.
The talk covers the content from Stages 4 and 5 of the NSW Science Syllabus, and so covers the basics of atoms and elements as well as the basics of nuclear science.

We will get to three facilities: the OPAL reactor (display area), the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering and Centre for Accelerator Science. If time permits, we may also visit ANSTO’s Nuclear Medicine manufacturing facility.
$15.00 per child. This is an unaccompanied excursion, so please book for the children only.
