Join the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra for a program inspired by the natural world and the mysteries of the cosmos.
This concert features the world premiere of Andrew Howes’ Lyrebird Concerto for Soprano Saxophone and Orchestra, with the talented Alice Morgan as soloist, and Holst’s ever-popular suite The Planets. Inspired by the sounds, character and natural forces of the Australian landscape, Howes’ new concerto brings a distinctly Australian voice to the concert hall.
The journey then expands into the cosmos with The Planets. From the imposing power of Mars and the grandeur of Jupiter to the solemn passage of Saturn and the distant mystery of Neptune, each movement creates a vivid and compelling musical world.
Together, these works offer an evening of orchestral colour, imagination and extraordinary scale.
