About this Event
This event, hosted by the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT), will focus on personality disorders and complex emotional and relational needs. In line with the Trust strategic priorities of improving health, culture and safety, we will use the Power Threat Meaning Framework (PTMF) theme of ‘what has happened to you’ to explore and reflect on:
- experiences related to personality disorders (PD) and complex emotional and relational needs (CERNs) as meaningful responses to what has happened to someone
- the impact of CERNs at different life stages, from childhood to later life
- formulation as a dynamic framework through which the connection between our individual characteristics, experiences and behaviours can be understood
- the benefits of compassionate curiosity in relational working
Attendees will have the opportunity to network with partner agencies and hear talks that draw from lived experience and clinical perspectives. Talks will include:
- Keynote speakers Lucy Johnstone and Amanda Griffiths introducing the concepts and application of the PTMF
- the carers perspective
- lived experience reflections on receiving a diagnostic label and what supports management, discovery and recovery
- Jo Ramsden (Clinical Lead for Yorkshire Humberside Personality Disorder Partnership) on how we can build healthier workplaces and reduce burnout.
Eligibility: This conference is for staff from any agency in the NSFT geographical area who work with people who have a personality disorder diagnosis and/or experience complex emotional and relational needs.
The event will run from 0900-1700. Lunch and refreshments are included.
A full program will be released closer to the date.
