Be a Captain or a Mermaid aboard the NPYC float in Old Town Alexandria's annual St Patrick's Parade! Staging begins at 11:00 AM and by 12 PM we will have the 'float' ready to roll. Please come and help decorate, and enjoy some club provided food and beverage. Wear green, or go nautical, or be a mermaid. Wear a Captain's hat if you have one, and we'll have some available as well.Like past years, our plan is to pull a speed boat in the parade adorned with flags, our banners and members giving out beads. We may have a 'water skier' or two behind the boat being towed along (on skateboard or roller blades), always fun to see.
Club members and their guests have priority on the boat as space is limited, and your RSVPs here and at the next meeting are requested.
NPYC will be in Division TBD and will be staged on Prince Street at St Asaph St TBD.
Decorating the boat will begin a bit after 11 AM at our staging area, the parade starts at 12:30 PM and we roll sometime thereafter in sequence. It might surprise you to know that the prep time is an enjoyable time.
Stay tuned to the club Facebook page for updates on the start location, and meet us there to join in the decorating.
The club will provide members with some lunch and beverages. We're not supposed to throw beads or anything from the float. Bring your favorite travel mug or use a club Solo cup. No open/visible containers of alcohol please.

Street and garage parking is always a challenge due to the popularity of this, Uber is a good idea, or plan to walk a few blocks. It's not a holiday, expect to pay for street parking.
Suggested outfits: Green, Leprechauns, Captains, Mermaids...
Bring 'sippy' cups, sports cups with lids or the like for drinking on the boat. Solo cups spill and anything that looks like an open container of adult beverages are not permitted.
NO THROWING OF BEADS. You must hand them out. We can be banned from future parades if you break this rule.
