About This Workshop:
Finding calm in a hectic world is anything but easy, but treating yourself to this workshop may help you find internal peace, harmony and calm. This two hour workshop will give you an opportunity to reduce stress, lower anxiety and let go of internal tension by finding internal balance and ease within yourself.
The Restorative Yoga practice begins to ease tension through slow passive and supported movements. Once the body finds calm and comfort sound frequencies are used to add depth and intensity to the practice. This combination allows the students to enter a deeper state of inner awareness because Sound Immersion effects the parasympathetic nervous system, which can activate the body’s rest and restore mode - a state that begins to heal the mind, body and spirit. Through this deeper internal awareness comes a deeper connection with self and others.
First, you will be guided through breathwork and meditation techniques to help turn down the volume of your sympathetic nervous system. You will use blocks, bolsters and blankets to move into specific restorative poses that begins to teach your body to relax and let go. Letting go of the monkey mind and the unconscious physical holding patterns, Restorative poses will help stretch away tightness, ease away tension and deeply open the body in a gentle, nurturing way. In our need to strengthen our parasympathetic nervous system, we take this opportunity to let go! The time to move forward in our personal journey is now.
The final part of the workshop will include a deep Sound Immersion experience with Crystal Bowls, Gongs, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Koshi Chimes and Native drumming.

About the Instructor Diane Proulx, M.Ed:

Diane started her yoga journey over 20 years ago. She continues to follow her path toward personal health, wellness and spiritual growth. She teaches Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga and Meditation, to share her passion of mind, body and spirit connection with other like minded individuals. However, there is an opportunity for a deep connection with self and others when combining the slow quiet forms of yoga with Sound Immersions. These sounds frequencies will resonate throughout your whole being on a deep cellular level
