About the Workshop:

Dive deep into the art of movement through dance. In this workshop, you will:
Learn how to use the elegance of arms and hands to frame your movements, arch your back gracefully, spin without dizziness, and master other common dance techniques.
Improve musicality through training to develop a strong sense of the beat.
Demystify the commonly used x8 count ensuring you feel confident across all dance styles.
Enhance your body awareness to dance with rhythm effortlessly by syncing breath with movement.
Inspired by dancehall, hip hop street styles, and tribal belly dance!

About the Instructor Cheryl G.

Cheryl takes her students on a journey of discovery with her contagious, amazing energy! She doesn't teach one specific style, instead she offers a unique approach and philosophy to dance and movement guided by her passion for music and dedication to the development and maintenance of body awareness, confidence, and strength.

She grew up in recreational jazz & ballet and later found Zumba. Most recently, Cheryl has been studying dancehall, hip hop street styles, and tribal belly dance. Her learning and teaching techniques use left and right brain approaches playing with both feminine and masculine energies.

Cheryl continues to expand her knowledge and skills through continued dance education and inspiration. YMCA Fitness Instructor (FIT), Zumba B1/B2/Pro Skills, Djamboola Afro, Cize Hip Hop, and MOVATI Barre certified. Cheryl has been teaching in the Women's Only Studio at the MOVATI Nepean lovation since 2014.
