With the generous support of , we invite students from architecture and the built environment courses from Gateshead (PlanBEE), Northumbria and University of Newcastle to join us for an evening of in-person mentoring, studio tour and informal networking.

This event is perfect for young creatives looking to discuss their current design work, get connected with peers or want to simply chat about their careers within the built environment.

We encourage applications from women, disabled individuals, Black, Asian, Global Majority Ethnic background candidates, and individuals of diverse gender identities.

Change the Record is a built-environment equity, diversity and inclusion initiative championed within the RIBA community. It runs events like J.E.D.I. Talks and a “Small Steps” series to amplify under-represented voices in architecture and related fields and challenge industry norms. The group advocates for inclusive practice, awareness, and systemic change across design professions.
Ryder Architecture is a UK-wide architectural practice founded in 1953 in Newcastle upon Tyne. It’s known for integrated design and placemaking across sectors including housing, urban design, heritage and commercial projects. Grounded in collaboration and sustainable impact, the practice balances creative problem-solving with community and environmental priorities.
Narrative Practice is an award-winning mentoring platform focused on improving representation in the built environment. Sessions is our flagship programme, connecting young people with professionals through free mentoring evenings, reviews and workshops.
To date, NP has supported over 1,025 individuals and has been recognised by, and collaborated with Architect’s Journal, RIBA London, Thornton Education Trust (TET), London Festival of Architecture, Archiboo, Build The Way C.I.C and Blueprint for All.

If cancellation / reschedule is required, please aim to do so with as much advanced notice as possible, or at least 2 days, prior to your Session. Please note that repeated cancellations may result in refusal to future bookings.

Please arrive at at least 15 mins before your scheduled Session.
