Do you already know how to thread your sewing machine and sew a straight seam, but need guidance to complete a project? This 1-day workshop is for you!
This project-based course for "advanced beginners" will guide students step-by-step through the design and creation of their own custom extra-large canvas tote bag. Add pockets, colour-block your design, add a zipper (optional), and select from a variety of strap styles. Sewists of all ages will have a wonderful time and leave with a unique, lovely sewn creation! (Students must bring 1 meter of cotton quilting-type or lightweight upholstery fabric to class and a spool of matching all-purpose polyester thread. Students may also choose to supply an optional 24-inch nylon zipper. Canvas, sewing notions, and miscellaneous fabrics are provided.)
IMPORTANT NOTE: No prior sewing skills are required, but students must bring a working sewing machine (with the manual, if you have it). In addition, if you wish to bring your own sketchbook or notepad for notes, sewing scissors, straight pins, and a seam ripper, please do.
All other sewing materials included.
