About this Event
Join us at the Wimbledon Museum and travel back to December 1546, when King Henry VIII prepared to visit Wimbledon. Learn about the royal visit and the role of the king’s apothecary, Thomas Alsop.
Create traditional Tudor decorations, including beeswax candles, festive table ornaments, and clove-studded oranges. Perfect for children looking to celebrate Christmas with a historical twist!
Tickets are £10 per child (plus booking fee.) Children must have an adult with them for the session (a maximum of two children per adult. Accompanying adults are free). The session is suitable for children aged 5+
Our family activities programme is supported by Arts Council England, Museum Development London and London Museum.
Please note: buggies may be left downstairs in the Wimbledon Club’s courtyard at the owner’s risk; no food and drink in the Museum, but it is permitted in the Lingfield Room, where we will be running the sessions.
