Please review the following requirements carefully before applying.
Training Attendance – Mandatory
You must be available for all required training sessions listed below. There are no exceptions.
Do not apply unless you are certain you can attend every session. Requests for exceptions will result in disqualification from the program.
Training Schedule:
Saturday, June 6, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Dog & Event Volunteers)
Sunday, June 7, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Dog Volunteers Only)
Tuesday, June 9, 2026 | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Dog Volunteers Only)
Wednesday, June 10, 2026 | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Dog Volunteers Only)
Saturday, June 13, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Dog Volunteers Only)
Application & Acceptance
All applicants are subject to a background check.
Individuals with certain criminal histories may not be accepted.
Selected applicants will be contacted to confirm training attendance.
Program Capacity
Volunteer slots are limited. Not all applicants will be accepted due to space constraints.
Program Fee
A $75.00 non-refundable fee is required upon acceptance (payable by credit card). Accepted volunteers will receive a payment link. This fee includes a STARS hoodie and T-shirt upon completion of the training.
Volunteer Commitment
Volunteers are expected to commit to one scheduled shift per week (2 hours per shift).
Cross-Training
All new volunteers will be trained to assist with events, regardless of their primary role.
