Working together to address metal shredding and recycling pollution
About this Event

The is a group of community members, government agencies, and senior leadership from Radius Recycling working together to address metal shredding emissions.

We're bringing notorious neighborhood polluter Radius Recycling to the table with community members and government regulators to work towards the common goal of reducing dangerous emissions.
This month, we'll zoom in on a dangerous byproduct of the metal shredding process: Light Fibrous Material (LFM). LFM is made of small synthetic fibers and metallic particles that come from crushed-up car seat stuffing, carpet, or other sources, and the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has found that LFM travels out of Radius's facility and onto our streets. We'll hear directly from both DTSC, and senior leadership at Radius Recycling about what they're doing to reduce LFM.

Whether you've been involved in the Collaborative before or you're just hearing about it now, we'd love to have you at the meeting.
