November Sunday volunteer conservation session

Want to improve the local area?
Would you like to find out more about nature?
Or are you just up for raising your heart rate?
Whatever the reason, you're welcome to come and join us.
Come along for our monthly Sunday task day on the last Sunday of the month.
We even provide a free lunch for the volunteers. Including tea and cake!
You don't need any previous experience. We'll take you through what we are doing, why we are doing it, and how to do it safely. If you want to know more, ask us about our management plan.
This month, our conservation tasks are going to be:
- Coppicing work - Thinning out some of the overgrown trees. We'll plant these so they can be used in a willow weaving project later in the year.
- Dead hedge rebuilding - We need to reinforce our barrier to protect the amphibians, allowing rest over winter.
- Litter Picking -
There's also the option of litter picking: The less litter there is the less likely people are to drop it!
The reserve is run by our wonderful team of volunteers. We would not be able to manage without your help, and every act makes the site better. We appreciate all of you.
Our Study Centre has toilets that will be open for use.
Our tasks are always open to non-members, but if you would like to help support Sholing Valleys financially and become a member, it's very easy to join. Just follow the link below:
