2024 Omak Chamber Business of the Year is the Breadline Café.
Originally opened in 1981 in the back half of its current building by founder Paula Chambers, the Breadline draws a dedicated fanbase of locals and travelers from all over the state and beyond. It has been a favorite venue for celebrations of important life events for nearly everyone in the area. Paula and her staff are renowned for their warm hospitality to guests, whether first-timers or long-time regulars. The Breadline has consistently been a huge supporter and partner of the community and their legendary desserts are a mainstay of local fundraisers. Housed in Omak’s own historic bottling plant, the eclectic vintage décor features local cultural and historical material, making every visit a trip through the region’s history.

2024 Citizen of the Year is Betty Cleveland.
Originally from California, Betty moved to Omak a decade ago after retirement, to be closer to family. She is an Elks member who spearheaded the revival of the Elks Vocational Scholarship this year and is organizing the cribbage tournament in November. She is a TEAM O.N.E volunteer, major supporter of Rotary as a non-member, major supporter of FFA including scorekeeping for trap shoots, serves as the Statistical Officer in NRA and CMP sanctioned rifle matches in the valley, and is a perennial election volunteer for ballot processing. Betty is always the first to raise her hand for any community project.
