Germantown artist Carl Yonder is a contemporary painter whose mixed-media practice combines drawing, digital construction, and painting to create layered symbolic narratives. Raised in a military family and shaped by years of relocation and a long-term meditation practice, his work explores memory, belonging, and the ways stories are formed through lived experience. Through recurring figures and evolving symbols, Yonder creates open narrative spaces that invite viewers to become active participants in the work, bringing their own memories and interpretations to each piece.
His work has been exhibited in solo, group, and museum exhibitions throughout the United States, including Gallery Blue Door, Calvert Marine Museum, Torpedo Factory Artists, Greenpoint Gallery, and the Washington County Arts Council. Solo exhibitions include Storyteller I–III, Caravan, and Nomadic Murals. He lives and works in the Mid-Atlantic region.
