Rick Davidson joined Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) in January 2019 as a disabled veteran. He volunteered as the program's fly-tying instructor and helped develop the Northwest Region’s Beginner Fly-Tying Program. When COVID-19 restrictions halted in-person meetings, Rick set up a studio in his home and hosted virtual fly-tying sessions via Zoom. He also volunteered to assist in the rod-building class, where he built a euro-nymphing rod alongside beginner builders. He entered this rod in the National Competition and placed second in the Intermediate Category. Rick currently serves as the Regional Coordinator for the Northwest and Program Lead for the Joint Base Lewis-McChord program. His short-term goal is to achieve the FFI Two-Handed Casting Instructor (THCI) certification.Rick will be tying a variation of the Green Butt Skunk with a unique tying procedure. Come join us for some good food and fellowship.
It’ll be a great opportunity to learn more about the Project Healing Waters organization and the wonderful work they do for veterans.
