Join Wyoming Valley CUUPs for a Dark Moon Sumbel! This is part of our Dark Moon Series. The Dark Moon Ritual series is a monthly gathering where our community comes together to delve into ourselves. These rituals provide a sacred space for reflection, healing, and connection. Every other month, we delve into the mysteries and teachings of various deities, exploring themes of transformation, shadow work, and personal empowerment.
On alternate months, we hold a Dark Moon Sumbel, a traditional Heathen ritual that offers a period of integration for the shadow work previously undertaken. By engaging in this ritual, we weave together the threads of our individual and collective wyrd, aligning our actions with the greater tapestry that connects us all. It’s a time for spoken truths, remembered deeds, and reaffirmed commitments to personal growth and communal support. A Sumbel is a Norse Pagan ritual consisting of rounds where each participant has a turn to toast, praise or hail a God, ancestor, spirit, or self. They then pour a beverage and everyone drinks. Traditionally there are three rounds. Participants will be encouraged, but not required, to take turns toasting.
Wear comfy clothes, and a small item that signifies your patron/s. Bring your own horn or ritual cup if possible, donations of mead/other libations are welcome. We will have non-alcoholic cider available as well.
The Heathens at Wyoming Valley CUUPs practice #inclusiveheathenry and seeks to foster openness and inclusivity both individually and through our religious practices.
