About the poets:
Michele Evans, a fifth-generation Washingtonian (D.C.), is the author of purl (Finishing Line Press, 2025), a contemporary poetry collection inspired by Homer's Odyssey and the verses of Phillis Wheatley Peters. Nominated for the 2025 Maya Angelou Book Award, purl reimagines feminine forces from Greek mythology and American history in today's world to celebrate the resilience of women bound by universal traumas threaded through life and literature. Poems from this collection first appeared in Artemis, The ASP Bulletin, Maryland Literary Review, Yellow Arrow Journal, and elsewhere. This Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee currently teaches English and Creative Writing in Northern Virginia and serves as the adviser of Unbound, a nationally recognized and award-winning high school literary magazine. You can find her online at www.awordsmithie.com.
Allison Whittenberg is an award-winning poet, novelist, and playwright. They Were Horrible Cooks is her collection of poetry. Her novels include Sweet Thang, Hollywood and Maine, Life is Fine, Tutored, and The Sane Asylum. Her plays have been performed at The Festival of Wrights (New York), Downtown Urban Arts Festival, The Secret Theatre, Interact Theatre, and Equity Library Theater of New York.
G.H. Mosson is the author of three books and three chapbooks of poetry, including most recently, Singing the Forge (David Robert Books), Family Snapshot as a Poem in Time (Finishing Line Press, 2019), and two collaborative chapbooks from PM Press. Mosson’s poetry has appeared in The Tampa Review, California Quarterly, Lines & Stars, The Potomac Review, Loch Raven Review, and been nominated four times for the Pushcart Prize. He works as an attorney based in the Baltimore metro area, and likes swimming, summer, and day hikes. For more, check out www.ghmosson.com.
