Novato Baylands Open Volunteer Day
About this Event
Join us for a monthly volunteer opportunity in a beautiful tidal marsh, open to anyone!
We will meet at our native plant nursery and then split up for field and nursery activities. Field activities may include planting during the fall-early spring and W**d management and maintenance of our recently installed native plants from late spring through early fall. Our nursery activities include propagating, potting up, and caring for thousands of native plants to be planted all around the Novato Baylands, as well as processing seeds collected in the field and testing plants for plant pathogens (harmless to humans). We will also take some time to appreciate the wetlands and look for their special plants, birds, and other wildlife.
We recommend bringing layers, sun protection, water bottle, and comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. We will have snacks, extra water, and access to a bathroom at the meeting point.
This will be a recurring event, on the first Friday of each month (except for New Year's Day).
Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions. You can also learn more about the Novato Baylands restoration project at pointblue.org/novatobaylands. We look forward to having you here!
