About this Event
Bird and nature enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us on January 24th for an exciting morning of birding at the Novato Baylands! Anyone is welcome to join, including families with young children, small groups, those with no birding experience, and seasoned birders.
We will meet at 9 AM at Point Blue's Novato Baylands native plant nursery at 737 Aberdeen Rd, Novato, CA (look for an open gate onto Aberdeen Rd from Hamilton Parkway). We’ll then walk at a relaxed pace along the Bay Trail until 11 AM looking and listening for as many species of birds as we can find, along with other wildlife and special wetland plants. Some of the birds we might see include spectacular flocks of sandpipers, herons and egrets, migratory ducks, American Avocets, and Black-necked Stilts.
Spotting scopes, bird books, and brochures will be provided. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, binoculars, sun protection, layers, and comfortable walking shoes.
Come bird with us and learn about the special salt marsh ecosystem – we hope to see you there! Please email [email protected] if you have trouble signing up or other questions.
