About this Event
Hosted by Uzazi Village’s Chef and Community Wellness Coordinator, Kimberly Vincent, owner of TopKnotch Vegan Vittles, this class will introduce participants to delicious plant-based cooking that supports overall wellness and maternal health.
Together we’ll prepare a flavorful build-your-own taco experience featuring plant-based walnut “ground beef” and fresh toppings. Tacos are a staple in many households, and this class is all about learning how to recreate familiar favorites in a way that is nourishing, accessible, and better for your body.
Throughout the class, we’ll also discuss how plant-based foods can support maternal health, including nutrition during pregnancy, postpartum healing, and overall family wellness.
Children ages 10 and up are welcome to join their parent or caregiver in the kitchen and help cook. Younger children are welcome to attend for free and enjoy our kid-friendly play area during the class.
Participants will leave with leftovers to enjoy at home, new recipes to try with their families, and the opportunity to shop our free grocery and pantry for food items they may need.
This event is open to the whole community and is part of Uzazi Village’s efforts to raise awareness and share resources during Black Maternal Health Week.
Come ready to cook, learn, and share a meal together as we explore how nourishment can help our families and communities flourish 💜
