About this Event

You have perhaps attended some of our Let's Fish introductory events or maybe you already fish with friends or family, if so, this event is ideal for you. You will need to bring your own fishing equipment and bait and obtain an Environment Agency rod licence in advance if you are aged 13 or over. Some help and support will be available from our Let's Fish coaches on the day and parents can offer limited assistance. This is one of 34 events spread across 8 regions of the country. It has both a National individual element which has voucher prizes from Daiwa and a regional team element which results in a grand final event for winners, to be held on 17th April 2027. Booking information.

Please book one ticket per participant in the correct category, ensuring that the ticket is in the correct name of the actual participant who intends to fish. Multiple bookings using the same participant’s name will not be accepted. On the day, you must arrive at 8.30am, when the allocation of fishing positions will take place.

Draw time: 8.30am

Fishing time: Cadets - 10.00am to 1.00pm

Juniors/Youth -10.00pm to 1.30pm

Important Travel Advise: Please enter the Victoria Embankment using the postcode NG2 2JS. Don’t turn into Carroll Gardens but continue along Riverside Way onto the Victoria Embankment, the Wilford Toll Bridge will be on your right. Continue along the Victoria Embankment to the next bridge, Wilford Suspension Bridge.

Who is this event for?

This regional celebration is ideal for any young person aged 6-20, who has been fishing a few times and is keen to learn more. This is ideal preparation for the Let's Fish National Celebration of Young People and Fishing, supported by Guru Tackle

Cost of Event

The cost for each participant is £6.00 plus booking fee and every participant will receive a £5 voucher from Angling Direct

However, if you have booked on and are subsequently unable to attend before the draw then please cancel your ticket.

You must cancel using one of these two mechanisms:

• 1 The preferred method is via the Eventbrite ticket booking system using the link that you can find on your ticket. This can be found at the bottom of your ticket and has a link directly to “cancel my ticket”.

• 2 By email [email protected] giving details of date, venue and participants in your email message.

We ask for your co-operation in this matter. This will allow others who would otherwise have regrettably missed out due to lack of available fishing pegs, it will give the opportunity to those on the reserve list to attend this event.

National Celebration of Young People and Fishing

Each year, we hold the national celebration of young people and fishing event open to all keen young anglers, including all Let’s Fish attendees aged between 6 & 20 on the 01/01/2026. The London marathon of young people's fishing, it's an event that any young person should experience at least once in their fishing journey. Check out our website for information on the event which will be held on the 12th & 13th September 2026 on the Staffs/ Shropshire border.
