Nottingham Annual Islamophobia Conference
About this Event
Islamophobia is an ever increasing issue for our community, effecting muslims and non-muslims alike. Not only through the rising level of hate crime incidents documented across the country, it also effects us in education, from schools through to university, in the workplace, in healthcare, in the media and ever more so in politics.
On Saturday the 21st November, we will be joined by leading organisations and academics to detail how Islamophobia works, how it is is affecting our society and what we need to do to tackle it.
Islamophobia is a form of racism, and it is only as a united community that we effectively tackle this evil.
The goal of the conference is to come together as a united community to tackle the biggest issue facing us all, by:
1. Better understanding what Islamophobia is and how it works
2. Learning from organisations tackling it at every level
3. Discussing our shared experiences
4. Engage and educate our community
5. Identify and prioritise actions to tackle Islamophobia together.
With your help and engagement, we aim to make this conference an annual event for Nottingham to work towards real change and protection for our community.
