Workshop Description:
What does it really mean when someone says, “We’ve got a contract”? Join the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Foundation (NOTCF) and The Ella Project on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. for a free, engaging workshop led by attorney Mark J. Davis, Esq.
Designed for cultural artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives, this session will provide practical tools to help you better understand contracts and confidently negotiate agreements that protect your work and interests.
Topics will include:
• What makes a contract, and how to negotiate better deals
• Understanding offers, acceptances, consideration, and performance
• What happens when agreements go wrong, and how to prepare for unforeseen issues
The workshop will also feature a live negotiation simulation, where in-person participants will pair up and practice negotiating from both sides of an agreement.
