A Bookless Book Club hosted by Reinforcing Wishes
Facilitated by Indigenous Deathworker Emily Vass
This isn’t your grandma’s knitting circle or your aunt’s wine-and-whine night.
Not Your MeMaw’s Book Club is a bookless book club for folks who want deep conversations open hearts and brave space to talk about life death grief and everything in between—no required reading just real connection.
This round we’ll be exploring themes from The In-Between by hospice nurse and author Hadley Vlahos—a deeply moving reflection on the lessons the dying can teach us about living. Through powerful stories from her patients Hadley opens a gentle door to discussions on mortality meaning and the mysteries of what comes next.
💡 No need to read the book to attend. Whether you've read it cover to cover listened to a few chapters or are just curious about the themes—we invite you into the conversation. All reflections are welcome. The discussion will be rooted in the book but you don’t need to have it memorized (or even cracked open) to show up fully.
🎧 The audiobook is available and beautifully narrated by the author herself—a great option for those who prefer to listen and reflect.
⚠️ Disclosure: The book covers topics related to death dying spirituality and the afterlife. Please be advised that some stories may be emotionally charged.
Led by Emily Vass Indigenous Deathworker and founder of Reinforcing Wishes this group offers compassionate dialogue collective insight and an invitation to sit with the hard—and beautiful—questions.
Come as you are. Read what you can. Let’s talk about the in-between.
