About this Event
Not Your Average Beginner Sewing Bootcamp
About This Event:
Ready to stop paying or waiting for someone to sew for you & do it on your own?
This 4-hour, hands-on sewing bootcamp is designed for beginners who want to confidently learn how to use their sewing machine and create, recreate, tailor, or upcycle their favorite clothing pieces.
This is not your average sewing class. You’ll learn how to take a garment you already own and turn it into a pattern you can reuse again and again.
Whether your sewing machine has been sitting in a box or you’ve been too intimidated to start, this class will guide you step-by-step.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to set up and use your sewing machine
- Beginner sewing techniques that actually make sense
- Fabric basics (knit vs. woven)
- How to trace your own garment to create a pattern
- How to cut, pin, and construct your piece
- Finishing techniques to complete your garment
What You’ll Leave With:
- A completed (or near-complete) garment
- The confidence to sew on your own
- A repeatable method to recreate clothing
What to Bring:
- Your sewing machine (with pedal + cord --if you don't have a sewing machine let us know & we'll set you up w/one for class!)
- A favorite fitting t-shirt or tank top
- 1 yard of knit fabric (4-way stretch)
- Matching thread
- Fabric scissors & tape measure
What’s Included:
- Pattern paper
- Additional shared tools and supplies
- Hands-on guidance
- Up-close demonstrations & open Q&A
Important Notes:
- This is a small, intimate class (4-5students max)
- Beginner-friendly — no prior experience needed
