'Not Bloody Likely" A play by Neil Titley

Written by Neil Titley Not Bloody Likely is an amusing, touching, and sharply observed exploration of the extraordinary life of the actress Mrs Patrick Campbell.

One of the greatest stars of the Victorian stage, Mrs Patrick Campbell was the original Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw later transformed into the musical My Fair Lady. stage she was mesmerising; off stage she was notorious for her razor-sharp wit, fierce independence, and gloriously scandalous behaviour.

Actor Alexis Leighton brings this formidable stage diva vividly to life. A highly regarded solo performer, Alexis’s previous work includes acclaimed productions about Bernard Shaw’s wife, Charlotte Payne Townsend, and the author Frances Hodgson Burnett. In Not Bloody Likely, she charts the triumphs, setbacks, passions, and contradictions of Mrs Pat’s remarkable career and personal life.

Playwright Neil Titley is renowned for his solo theatre as both an actor and writer. His previous work includes shows on Oscar Wilde, Brendan Behan and Bernard Shaw. His play Shaws Corner was televised in over 20 countries. He is also the author of several books, including The Oscar Wilde World of Gossip - A Subversive Encyclopaedia of Victorian Anecdote

Musician Helen Tierney works in mainstream education and care settings, with a focus on music & dementia. She uses piano, accordian & celtic harp in stage collaborations with Alexis. She also sings with the BBC Symphony Chorus and is a regular Proms performer.

The collaboration of these creative talents is a richly entertaining hour of wit, love and laughter - not to be missed!
