Nostalgia of Cambridge Walking Tours: Galt's Architectural Past

Offered in conjunction with McDougall Cottage’s newest exhibit, Snapshots in Time: Nostalgia and Memory, this guided walking tour through Galt explores some of the places that reflect the hard work and creativity of generations who built this community and that still hold special meaning for local residents and their families.

The sites we’ll visit not only helped to shape the Galt area itself, but also the lives of the people who lived and worked there.

While the people may have changed, the memories of its stories, buildings, and businesses remain.

The tours depart from McDougall Cottage at 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm sharp and run for approximately 90 minutes, ending at 13 Food and Beverage (13 Main St.) where participants are invited to continue the evening with good company and a 10% discount on food purchases. To take advantage of this offer, it is recommended guests book their own table at the restaurant in advance.

The cost is $15.95+HST (eventbrite fees may apply). Tickets are available for in-person purchase at McDougall Cottage during its hours of operation.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited, so register early!

Please Note: This walking tour may include hills, stairs and uneven terrain. Participants should dress for the weather. No washroom facilities available during the tour.
