Join us at Leffingwell House Museum on Saturday, October 4, 11-3 pm for the 366th Celebration of the Founding of Norwich. At 11:15, The Business sponsored Scarecrow Garden will be opened by the Crow & Cauldron Witch Dancers. At noon listen to a brief history of the Founding of Norwich, followed by Proclamations from the City & State for the Founding of Norwich and bell ringing for the 35 founding families. You can participate in an I Spy Business Scarecrows Hunt in the garden, with prizes and interact with visiting Traders- Big Bear Trading and the Native trader Jon. Spend time with Sheldon’s Horse Light Dragoons, discover what a mounted regiment does in battle. Inside the museum, there will be an ‘I Spy Founder’ History Hunt for artifacts, see the sword of founder Major John Mason on loan from New London County Historical Society. Prizes for both I Spy Hunts, Have a piece of Founders cake and Taste Pewter Pot Fine Spiced Chocolate. Museum tours $8/adult, 16 & under FREE.
Both scavenger hunts will be available every weekend in October!!
