Dear Community Partners and Friends,The Cape Verdean Santiago Society warmly invites you to join us on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 1:00–7:00 PM in Norwich, Connecticut for a celebration honoring the rich culture, history, and enduring contributions of the Cape Verdean community.
Founded in 1939 the Cape Verdean Santiago Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in Norwich, Connecticut. Our mission is to promote culture and diversity while preserving the history and positive values of the Cape Verdean people of Norwich and the surrounding areas.
For more than eight decades, our organization has served as a cultural cornerstone—bringing people together through tradition, education, and community pride. Through a collaborative spirit, we work to inspire, elevate, and empower the Norwich community and surrounding areas.
Our 7th annual celebration will be a vibrant gathering featuring music, food, history, and shared experiences. It is open to people of all backgrounds and designed to foster connection, understanding, and cultural appreciation. We would be honored by your presence.
In addition to attending, we are also seeking community partners to support this event and our ongoing mission. We are currently looking for:
• Sponsors to help underwrite event costs
• Volunteers to assist with planning and day-of activities
*Vendors and Community information booths
• Information on grant opportunities or funding resources that support cultural, educational, or community-based initiatives
Your support—whether through participation, partnership, or guidance—helps ensure this important legacy continues for future generations.
