Founded in 1935, the Northland Recreation Laboratory (Rec Lab) provides adult life-longer learners the opportunity to explore music, singing, arts, crafts, movement, discussion and the natural world within a community of people who inspire all participants to live create lives and share their skills and experiences with others. This year's Discussion Leader will be Mary Schmidt, Playing Dress-up: The Stories and Clothes of Our Lives. Mary believes that the stories of our lives are in the clothes of our lives, and she invites participants to imagine, create, share and reminisce by "listening to their clothes" and consider the prompt, "What were you wearing when....? Each morning during discussion, Mary will pull from her traveling wardrobe of clothing and artifacts to encourage Rec Labbers to ponder, remember and share the stories of the clothes of their lives.
