As some of you know, songwriter rounds are probably my favorite format for sharing my music--because I am a fan first and a performer second, I always appreciate the chance to be with other songwriters and hear their stuff. And it's awesome to be reminded again and again of how many great artists there are in this area.
This particular billing especially excites me because it's chock full of friends and favorites. I'm betting you will enjoy it too, if you get a chance to come out for awhile. Plus, the Grand in Northfield is one of the best places in the region to hear music--beautiful space, excellent acoustics, and friendly staff.
I truly believe that songs are the Muse's way of helping us to speak truths that we might not be able to express--or even to recognize--by other means. To the degree that I'm right in that belief, songs are a kind of witness against the wider forces that make us feel small and alone. Doesn't that sound just like what the doctor ordered these days?
