Northern Virginia Tea & Social Club: Holiday Tea & Cozy Trivia Night

December is busy enough.

This is your excuse to do something fun.

The Northern Virginia Tea & Social Club is getting together for our December gathering aaaand this time we're adding a little friendly competition to the mix with Holiday Tea & Cozy Trivia.

Think less serious pub trivia championship and more a table full of people laughing because none of you can remember the answer.

You'll still have everything you expect from a Tea & Social Club night: good drinks, good food, new faces, familiar faces, and plenty of time to actually talk.

We're just giving you a few questions to argue about along the way.

We'll spend the evening with four relaxed rounds of team trivia, with questions spanning:

• Pop culture
• Food & drink
• A visual round
• Northern Virginia and local lore

You don't need to bring a team.

In fact, we'd rather you didn't worry about one.

Teams can form naturally around the tables, which means trivia gives everyone an easy reason to start talking without anyone having to make the dreaded walk across a room and announce:

“Hi. I'm here to make friends.”

Grab a seat. Meet your table. Figure out who knows way too much useless information.

We'll take it from there.

This isn't suddenly becoming trivia night at a sports bar.

We'll have a few complimentary appetizers circulating during the beginning of the evening, and Crest Hill's food and beverage offerings will be available to order throughout the night.

• Wine
• Mimosas
• Artisanal coffee
• Pastries and sweets
• Finger sandwiches and savory bites

There is no admission charge and no required purchase to attend.

Trivia gives you an automatic way into the conversation.

You don't need an opening line.

You don't need to know anyone.

You don't even need to be good at trivia.

Sit down with a few people, wait for the first question, and suddenly everyone has something to talk about.

And somewhere between debating an answer and realizing absolutely nobody at the table knows it, you might just meet someone you'd like to see again next month.

Even better.

Come catch up with people you've met in October or November & make room at the table for somebody new.

That's what we're hoping happens as this club grows: a mix of familiar faces and first-timers every month, until walking into a room full of people starts feeling a whole lot less like walking into a room full of strangers.

The Northern Virginia Tea & Social Club is for adults looking for more opportunities to meet people, make friends, and build a real-life social circle close to home.

Singles and couples are welcome. So are longtime locals, people who just moved to Northern Virginia, introverts, extroverts, trivia nerds, people who are terrible at trivia, tea drinkers, wine drinkers, and everyone somewhere in between.

This is a welcoming, inclusive community.

You don't have to fit a particular mold to pull up a chair.
