Northcott’s Guide to Healthy Chefs is a free group cooking program for teenagers aged 12-17 to learn kitchen skills and make healthier food choices.
This program includes theory and practical activities and is run by qualified dietitians.
In this program, your child will:
- Make food suitable for their lunchbox and after school snacks.
- Learn healthy eating principles from the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating (AGHE) about the five food groups.
- Learn the importance of each food group and how to portion and include these into daily meals.
- Develop practical kitchen skills to make well balanced meals using the five food groups and healthy eating principles.
- Receive a 5 star Chef Award after completing the set tasks within the program.
Participants can register to attend as many sessions as they would like.
