North State Jobs First: “Setting the Foundation for Long-Term Resilience”

The North State Planning and Development Collective at Chico State and Sierra Institute for Community and Environment, Co-Conveners of the North State Jobs First Initiative, are pleased to announce the next regional meeting: "Setting the Foundation for Long-term Resilience."
Join us on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in person at the Gaia Hotel in Anderson, California, from 10 am to 3 pm . DOORS OPEN at 9:30 a.m., program begins at 10:00. Lunch is included.
At the meeting, we will:
Reflect on the region’s accomplishments (Catalyst Projects, Regional Strategies, etc)
Review and Benchmark progress in Industry-sector work (Ag, Health, Tourism, Natural Resources)
Identify potential needs and gaps
Map our next steps as we pivot into the Implementation Phase, build on successful project partnerships, and set the foundation for long-term resilience.
Since 2022, stakeholders in the North State Region have been convening, collaborating and partnering to develop the North State Regional Plan as part of the Governor’s California Jobs First Initiative. The plan was officially adopted in 2025 and serves as a road map, in conjunction with local economic development organizations, for creating and maintaining a healthy North State economy.
