We welcome the start of our busy year after a summer break that still included some activities. A Pop-up Neighbourhood Park Day was held in Lavington in July and it was so refreshing to see everyone run through the huge arch of spray created by the Lavington Firefighters and their hose during the 40 degree C afternoon. In addition, the Neighbourhood PLaY Boxes continue to be well used and received so regular monitoring of the 9 Boxes was ongoing by Club members. (If you have visited one of the many PLaY Boxes, you will see that the contents degrade from use so donations of balls, racquets and frisbees would be most appreciated)! Join the Optimists on Monday, Sept 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm to socialize, meet fellow Optimists, enjoy a meal at 5:30 pm and hear about upcoming events including the return of 'Art From The Optimist Attic' fundraiser/sale in November. Anyone interested in donating towards our silent or live auction for the latter, our major fundraiser, can leave us a message to let us know! New members are always welcomed to help NOOC 'bring out the best in youth, our community and ourselves'!
