A New Tradition Takes Flight in Southaven
Join us for the North Mississippi Hummingbird Festival, now a two-day event, happening September 12–13, 2026 at Snowden Grove Park in Southaven, Mississippi.
This growing tradition celebrates the incredible journey of the ruby-throated hummingbird as it migrates through North Mississippi on its way to Mexico and Central America. Each fall, tens of thousands move through our region during peak migration, part of a larger movement of millions traveling across the eastern United States.
The June Wheeler Memorial Hummingbird Garden is expanding into a meaningful habitat for both hummingbirds and the community. In fact, the park has nearly doubled in size since last year’s event, creating even more space for native plantings, pollinators, and the birds that depend on them.
This year, vendors and speaker sessions will be hosted at the Snowden House, located just across from the June Wheeler Memorial Hummingbird Garden within Snowden Grove Park, creating a central gathering space for the weekend’s activities.
We’re especially grateful to the City of Southaven and the Parks & Recreation team for their continued support and investment in creating a space that brings together conservation, education, and community in such a meaningful way.
Festival hours:
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
