Local hometown heroes may have the home track advantage and are likely podium contenders, with drivers including 2nzp Glen McCutcheon, 3nzp Nathan Jefferies, and 54p Jayden Williams all in serious contention for the title. Defending champion 18p Daniel Nickel will be looking to go back-to-back at the Championship, coming off the high of earlier in the month winning the New Zealand Minisprint Grand Prix at Oceanview Speedway and a second placing at the recent Manawatu Championship, he is surely one to watch come this Championship! With drivers from Stratford including 1nzs Karl Uhlenberg, 82s Cameron Hurley, and 85s Erin Uhlenberg and Wanganui drivers including 53v Dylan Smith, 66v Flynn Whittaker and 92v Roger Smith rounding out a quality field, this Top Cat Contracting North Island Minisprint Championship is likely to go down to the wire.
The future of speedway, the Youth Ministock class, will also be competing for their Manawatu Championship. Youth Ministocks have fostered many speedway competitors into other classes, and the skill of these young drivers is something to admire. Many New Zealand Champions started their speedway racing career driving in the Ministock class, with a new Manawatu Youth Ministock Champion crowned this weekend.
The Youth Class this season has seen an excess of 40 cars registered with the Robertson Prestige International Speedway and with many local hard-charging drivers who will be in with a real chance of taking the podium honours. Coming off success at the Oceanview 5000, 52p Boston Joblin, 23p Kobe Dorn and 21p Mason Taylor will all be drivers to watch come this championship and are likely to be at the pointy end of the field. With some stiff competition likely from, 294p Charlie Newman, 77p Will Carroll-Holland and 18p Aiden Waihi who all are inside the top 6 in the Season Points Chase the competition will be tough!
Local cars will be given preference to make the 60-car field. Please register your intention to compete, and any available positions for out-of-town cars will be filled by ballot from online registrations. The final field will be posted on the week of the event.
Adding to the spectacular night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway metal crunching Stockcars will be battling it out for the chequered flag. Side-by-side and bumper-to-bumper, the drivers are always willing to put on a show for the fans! These metal crunching, fearless drivers have had a few weeks off the dirt, so expect them to make their impact felt at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway. Rounding out the stella night the return of Saloon racing in their Mustangs, Camaros, and Corvettes wheel to wheel around the CET Arena.

Admission prices are $30 for an Adult (16 years and over), $10 for Children aged 8-15, and $70 for a Family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.
Tickets are available to pre-purchase online from https://www.eventfinda.co.nz, (tickets purchased incur an additional service fee) or on race day from Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 5pm.
Minisprint Practice from 5.15pm, Racing starts 6pm.
