About this Event
I've heard it's too cold here for citrus. Is that true? What kind of fruit trees can grow in Levy County? All I have is sugar sand, what kind of fruit can I grow in that?
In this last of three series we'll discuss fruit and citrus for North Florida. We'll talk about soil testing, selecting cultivars, correcting root defects and planting trees in sandy soils. The conversation is complete with a candid look at fertilizing and irrigating your orchard.
This is an outdoor, open air event. Dress for the weather. The workshop is free, however pre-registration is required to ensure materials.
Hosted by Barbara L. Edmonds, horticulture program assistant, Levy County
Extension and Nature Coast Master Gardeners in cooperation with Ken and Heidi Schweibert of Two Hawk Hammock and Bill and Verna Brown of The Children's Table.
