"Mr. Bones Wild Ride" was a meme from the early internet days that showed a ride made in Roller Coaster Tycoon, a theme park simulator game from the late 90s, which once boarded would take years to reach the end of. The ride length tortured the digital patrons who all were tired of being locked into an endless cycle of switchbacks and zero meaningful forward progress, yet had no control of their own fate. The tiny simulated souls' only outlet was to shout into the ether "I want off Mr Bones Wild Ride", yet the trap was already shut and the guests fate already decided.Today feels a lot like we're all on Mr Bones Wild Ride and I think we collectively want the ride to end. This park guest believes the only way forward it through community and collective action.
So join us this month! We will gather, build, scheme, plan, and commiserate with each other over drinks and snacks. What will we talk about? Art, probably, I mean hey, Dadaism is back! We're asking "what can be art?" again, an important question in the face of global conflict.
The North County artist collectives are building art and have opportunities to help. Let us talk your ears off about the meaning and methods behind our madness. I promise, we don't bite, tens of people would agree, we're a fun bunch.
