North Corktown Motor City Makeover 2026

Motor City Makeover is an annual citywide volunteer cleanup and beautification initiative in Detroit. May 30th is the date for all of District 6 to plan their events.

In North Corktown, the NCNA and NC3 plan park building and clean up events. And this year is going to be the biggest year yet. We have 5 projects spread across the neighborhood that will include tree planting, weeding, and trach pick up. This event single handledly keeps our parks maintainable for the summer.

MCM in North Corktown will take place from 10am - 2pm.

Everyone will meet at The Commons at 3300 Cochrane St and will be given instruction on which project they will head to. You can select your project preference when you register.

• Feel free to come the whole time, or stop by for an hour. Literally filling up one garbage bag of trash or one yard bag of brush makes the world of difference.
• All ages are welcome, even if you can't physically participate you can come help check people in and direct folks to where we need them.
• We will have bagels and coffee in the morning, and an after party with food at the end of the end of the event (more details below).
• We will have tools, gloves, bags, water, but feel free to bring your own gloves, tools, and water bottle as well.

After the volunteer event ends at 2, we are planning a first ever District 6 celebration after party!
Join us at 2:30pm at Nancy Whiskey for food and to cheers your neighbors on a successful day of work in the city.
Make sure to sign up during registration so we know how many people to expect.
