Experience North Star Nature Preserve with a guided tour provided by our Open Space and Trails rangers. Nordic with a Ranger is a free, family-friendly program that offers relaxed, cross-country skiing paired with learning about wildlife, local history, and the future of one of Aspen’s beloved sanctuaries. These one-hour outings are designed for Nordic skiers who are comfortable on groomed trails and enjoy a slower, classic pace. Along the way, rangers will share their knowledge of the preserve’s habitats, seasonal wildlife activity, and ongoing stewardship efforts, making each tour both educational and immersive.

Bring your own Nordic ski equipment and dress for winter conditions. The guided route is approximately 1.5 miles round-trip.
