Our Annual Norco Horseweek Barrel Race
Practice runs 3:30 - 5:15pm, and 6:30 - 7:15pm
Practice runs are $5 each, pay at the gate when you get to the front of the line.
On-site Sign ups will begin at 4:00pm
Pre-entries will start Monday, April 21st, at 9am on Facebook. You will comment on a Pinned Post to pre-enter. First 40 spots will go FAST!!! Early in the 7:30 group will go fast as well. Set a reminder!
Barrel race will start at 5:30pm for draws 1-40, then we will restart at 7:30pm for draws 41+.

Dress code will be enforced.
Riders 17 and under must wear helmets.
*The break in the race is during the sunset because the sun may interfere with the timers or with the rider's/horse's vision between the first and second barrel. While we make every effort to anticipate this issue and pause the race as necessary, it is the sole responsibility of each rider to verify that the sun will not cause them/their horse a problem prior to beginning their run. Each rider and horse is different and what can impact one rider may not impact all riders equally. We will handle any request to pause the race or move your draw number at our discretion upon your request prior to the start of your run. We will not offer re-runs after you have run so please ask before your run if you think it will be an issue for you or request your draw preference accordingly.

DIRECTIONS/CONTACT INFO:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Jackpots are held at Ingall's Event Center at 3737 Crestview Dr, Norco, CA 92860.
The address is on Crestview but the directions are as follows: Take I-15 to the Sixth Street exit in Norco, CA. Head east on 6th street until it dead ends. When the street dead ends you just keep driving straight into a dirt driveway which leads you right into the arena. This chain link gate is labeled as gate #1. Occasionally during construction this gate is closed and you have to enter off of Crestview Dr. where there are 2 or 3 additional gates to get to the arenas, usually gate #7 is open, south of Clark Arena.

RULES
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The following are city rules and need to be followed so that we can continue having these jackpots.
ALL riders (anyone sitting on a horse) on city property during Thursday Night events are REQUIRED to sign a release of liability. If you have NOT signed one, please see the book-keeper/ gate person prior to getting on your horse. These releases are good for a full year so you only need to sign one once per year.
Riders under the age of 18 are REQUIRED to wear helmets. Please plan accordingly.
NO SMOKING! Ingalls Park is owned and operated by the City of Norco, and all city parks have no smoking policies in effect. However, Ingalls Park has special exemptions to allow smoking in certain designated areas. Smoking is still prohibited in spectator areas. This includes all bleacher areas as well as spectator areas where picnic tables are placed throughout the event center. If you would like to smoke during our weekly Jackpots, please do so out in the parking and driving areas away from all picnic tables, bleachers and any areas where spectators are gathered.
NO DOGS! All dogs MUST be on a leash (City law). No dogs are permitted in the spectator areas including the picnic tables near the arena entrance gates.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
NOVICE/BEGINNER RIDERS:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This race will be a standard 4D format with an added novice/beginner class which has a +3.0 second time split off of the overall fast time from the 1D. Think of this like an added division that is another 1 second slower than the Open 4D division. This means that the time closest to the time split, just like in the 2D, 3D, and 4D of a standard race is the winner of the Novice class. The purpose of this +3.000 second time split is to encourage new riders who are just beginning and looking to start competing in the sport of barrel racing. We would like to reach out to the young and beginner riders of all ages and help them get started in this great sport and keep this class competitive for those riders, giving them an opportunity to win some money while they learn.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
ENTRY FEES/PAYOUT:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Open 4D + Novice 1D - $55 Entry Fee
Sidepots - $25 Entry Fee
Plus $10 office fee, once per contestant.
Youth sidepot pays 90%
Prime sidepot pays 90%
Senior sidepot pays 90%
Open 4D + Novice 1D pays 70%
-------------------------------------------------------------------
PATTERN SIZE:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The typical pattern size set up for these jackpots is a 80'x90' with a 25' score. The official arena record is a 14.322 held by Kristin Weaver Brown on Cassidys Cash N Fame set on Feb 18, 2017. The average fast time on a small Thursday night jackpot is about a 15.1.
