About this Event

This event is co-hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough and Ontario Nonprofit Network.

Join us for Nonprofit Driven Regional Connects: Peterborough! This is not your average “conference” - Nonprofit Driven Regional Connects are small gatherings with big impacts. This is an opportunity for nonprofits, charities, and community organizations across the region to share space and ideas for our collective well-being, explore systemic solutions locally, learn more about ONN’s work, and break bread together.

Our sector continues to be intentionally under-resourced and privatized, is experiencing growing legal attacks from the community for doing its critical work, and grapples with increased scrutiny and eroding public trust. To combat the current climate of deep polarization, we must invest in building relationships to help our sector and communities thrive. Getting together in community is an ongoing exercise in movement-building, and actively shaping the future together.

What to expect:
  • Get practical data, information about policies and trends impacting nonprofits in Peterborough and across Ontario, and discuss how these are showing up in your work and communities.
  • Make connections over the issues that matter to you - engage in conversations and learn from local peers, and team members from the Community Foundation and ONN.
  • Enjoy breakfast and lunch with nonprofit colleagues, as well as full access to the Canadian Canoe Museum.
  • After the event, all registrants will receive slides, notes, and links to resources.

Agenda to come.

Host Organizations:

ONN is an independent network for the 58,000 nonprofits in Ontario, focused on policy, advocacy, and services to strengthen Ontario’s nonprofit sector as a key pillar of our society and economy.

ONN works to create a public policy environment that strengthens nonprofits so they can do more. They activate nonprofit networks by convening and engaging organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to tackle cross-cutting issues at a sector-wide level. ONN’s efforts are bringing the voices of the sector to policy- and decision-makers.

The Community Foundation believes that together, we can build a vital community for everyone. With a long-term view of our community and insight into the challenges and opportunities facing Peterborough, the Community Foundation has the knowledge and the staying power needed to address complex issues, from environmental sustainability to housing and homelessness, from support for the arts to care for those in need.
