Two Incredible Brazilian musicians now living in New England!
Yale Professor and 2026 festival composer-in-residence João Luiz Rezende will have one of his new pieces premiered by Adam Levin (guitar) and Will Knuth (violin), as well as his 5-guitar piece performed by URI graduate students & festival faculty in an evening celebrating the music of a country the guitar owes so much to: Brazil!
Ian Coury is one of the standout Brazilian mandolin talents of the new generation. An award-winning 10-string mandolin player and Berklee graduate, he leads a dynamic trio alongside pianist Maxim Lubarsky and percussionist Bertram Lehmann, creating a vibrant and expressive musical dialogue.
