Melbourne honky tonkers No Sleep Till Texas will be returning to one of their favourite places, the Lulie Tavern on Sunday 19 January, to deliver a set of their unique, bare bones honky tonk and vintage country. Better still, they'll be joined by their buddies The Distant South opening things up with their unique, heartfelt alt-country stylings.
NO SLEEP TILL TEXAS ...
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia and fueled by a love of honky tonk and classic country music, come No Sleep Till Texas.
Paying homage to their own heroes, the likes of Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Doug Sahm, Dwight Yoakam and Willie Nelson, this Melbourne outfit are throwbacks to when country music was exactly that. They love the music they play and you can tell.
Delivering their honest and bare bones take on country classics, combined with a suite of like-minded original tunes, No Sleep Till Texas are all about keeping it real.
The band have become the staple honky tonk backdrop of the successful Lightning and Rhinestone events, playing alongside some of Melbourne’s finest country and Americana exponents.
2024 saw them join illustrious company at 2024’s Out On The Weekend festival, playing alongside top international and local acts.

The Distant South offer a new take on the alt-country genre, weaving confessional tales into melody and harmony-soaked tunes and brought to life with a menagerie of Country and Bluegrass instruments!
The Distant South throw the sounds of Country, Folk, Blues and Soul into the fiery pit of angst and heartache to deliver captivating performances of songs full of melancholy, yet leave the audience uplifted. The Distant South have released 2 EP’s and a full-length album - and head back into the studio in early 2025.
