Find out at the first annual No Sleep Till Glacial Team Mountain Bike Team Relay sponsored by Chain Of Lakes Relay For Life at Glacial Hills Natural Area . It’s your chance to support a great cause and push yourself to the limit with your endurance! All skill levels welcome, your skills don’t matter here, it’s about who can last the longest. Glacial Hills Natural Area trails are not technical, capable for all skill levels, but how capable at 4am is up to you. Assemble 1-5 teammates, grab your lights and see how many laps you can make all day and through the night. The course will include section of the famous Outer Loop, spectators are welcome and glowsticks are encouraged. Tents/ campers for teams to rest in will be allowed in designated areas for resting. Assemble a team, get registered, join the party, push your endurance limits through the night with us and support a great cause!General Overview
-1-5 person teams.
-20 teams max.
-Team with most laps wins.
-No E-Bikes.
-Each team must designate a captain. Correspondence for each team before, during and after will be exclusively through each captain. Team captains will be required to attend a pre-race meeting.
-Base camp/ registration at Eckhart Rd parking lot.
-Designated camping areas available at Eckhart Rd parking lot for riders during event only.
-Transition area may only be occupied by riders and volunteers. Any rider on the course may only be supported by other registered riders. Registered riders may support riders with equipment, tools, parts or even swap bikes.
- Teams will use a physical "baton" that must be passed from the finishing rider to the starting rider in a designated Transition Area.
-Token will be provided to each rider after each completed loop. Number of tokens will be calculated at end of the event to decide winning team, team with the most tokens wins. Each rider/ team is responsible for holding onto tokens until the end of the event.
-You must finish the lap with the bike you started on. You can perform trailside repairs, but you cannot swap bikes with a teammate mid-lap.
- Leaving the marked course is an immediate disqualification.
-Last lap must be started prior to final hour mark.
-Multiple prizes available.
-Course will incorporate short section of outer loop (10 miles).
Safety
-Helmets required for riders on course.
-Headlights are required for riders on course from 8pm to end of event. Each rider must carry a backup light source (even a small "get home" light) in case your primary battery dies mid-trail.
-The rider being overtaken has the right of way, but slower riders are expected to pull over safely when they hear "Rider back!" or "Track!" at the first available opportunity.
-Any use of alcohol or any other mind-altering substances prohibited on course.
-Alcohol will only be permitted in designated areas at Eckhart road parking lot only.
