The French divas of the mid-20th century were a force to be reckoned with. From the indomitable Edith Piaf, who wrote some of the most captivating love lyrics of all time, to Josephine Baker, a Black American woman who became a French citizen and spied against the Vichys during WWII, to Dalida, who weathered repeated tragedies, scandals, and failures to maintain a decades-long career in the spotlight, these women radiated courage and determination. Vocalist Robin Kallsen debuted at North City Bistro with a sold-out Edith Piaf tribute show in January, and she's excited to be back with more captivating music from France. Featuring Jennie Mayer on guitar, Karin Kajita on piano, Rachael Contorer on bass, and Alicia DeJoie on violin, the Marianne Quartet is an expansion of Robin's brand-new group Trio Marianne, which has already performed at multiple wine and cocktail walks, Cellar Cat, and the Royal Room.
